Everyone loves M&Ms, right? You can hardly go wrong serving them at a party, since they are so well loved. In fact, the favors I made for my wedding nine year ago were special tins filled with M&Ms!
Did you know that you can have M&Ms specially printed with messages or images of your choice? You can match the party’s color scheme, theme and more, with MyMMs.com Birthdays.
I chose to make an over-the-top Detroit Tigers cake with customized M&Ms. This cake would be perfect for a baseball themed birthday party!
I went to MyMMs.com and put together my order of personalized M&M candies. The website offers a rainbow of color options, and it allows you to preview the color combinations before you order. I chose colors to match my Detroit Tigers theme: pearl white, orange, and dark blue. The dark blue candies can’t be printed on because the dark printing doesn’t show on the dark color, but I wanted the full Tigers color scheme.
On the next screen I chose a few Tigers logos from the dropdown menu. I could also have chosen to upload my own photos or add my own text to the candies. If you need some inspiration, the MyMMs.com Birthday Idea Gallery offers some fun ideas.
I colored half of the cake batter blue and the other half orange. Then I alternated the batter in the cake pans to create Tiger stripes. I frosted the cake with cream cheese frosting (I don’t know why anyone uses any other kind) and got to decorating.
I created the design with my personalized M&Ms in a pattern around the side of the cake.
Even with all the candies I used for the cake, I still have a TON left over. Just divvy up the M&Ms into favor bags and then guests can take some of these memorable treats home with them.
These printed M&Ms are definitely for a very special occasion, but I think both the honoree and the guests would be delighted by specially printed M&Ms.
