SIMPLE CRACKER JACK CUPCAKES

Simple Cracker Jack Cupcakes

Baseball season is in full swing, and these sweet treats are a nod to the quintessential stadium treat:  Cracker Jack!  The cupcakes are unbelievably simple to assemble and are sure to impress party guests or any little sluggers you have at home.

Frosted Cracker Jack Cupcake

Begin by baking a few dozen butter flavored cupcakes.  You can feel free to make yours from scratch; mine were 100% Betty Crocker.  After they have cooled, frost each of the cupcakes with your choice of vanilla or cream cheese frosting.  If given the option, I always choose cream cheese frosting.  Always.

Add caramel drizzle

Next, drizzle a small amount of caramel sauce over the frosting, and sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt.  Notice that I used two liners on my cupcake.  You are more likely to catch the caramel overflow when you double up the liners.

Finish it all off with a few pieces of Cracker Jack (or similar caramel/popcorn/peanut confection).

Just like that you have a very chic looking baseball-themed dessert.  The cupcakes will look gourmet, so I won’t blame you if you don’t choose to tell your guests that they came from a box mix!
