Every year on April 22nd, we observe Earth Day and take the opportunity to reinforce how important it is to take care of the earth. I created a fun scavenger hunt that can be used as one of your Earth Day activities with younger children. I hope my printable Earth Day scavenger hunt will be a good resource for parents and teachers alike.

USING EARTH DAY SCAVENGER HUNT PRINTABLES
After you have saved the printable to your computer, load your color printer with regular printer paper. You don’t need to print this scavenger hunt in full color, but it’s much prettier if you do! Print as many copies as you need so that all the kids have their own sheet.
I recommend clipping the printables to a clipboard before you begin your nature walk. Each child should bring a pencil or crayon along so that they can mark off the list of items as they spot things.
As you walk through your neighborhood, keep an eye out for the items on the list. Some items like leaves should be easy to find. Hopefully, you won’t find litter on your walk, but, if you do, you can have a conversation about why littering is wrong and how you can help keep the planet clean.
