This simple rag sphere project is quick and easy. The project is a great way to get kids involved in holiday decorating and could even be used as a simple classroom project. The spheres make for versatile decorations that can be left out even after Christmas is over.
To make this project I used, you guessed it, plaid shirts from the thrift store, but you can use whatever fabric best fits with your seasonal décor.
To make rag ball spheres, you will need:

plaid fabric
Cut your fabric in to 1” – 1 1/2” wide strips, the longer the better. Poke the end of one strip into the foam with the tool or pencil. Continue to wrap the ball with fabric until it is covered. Poke the end of the strip into the foam and trim off the excess.
Repeat for as many decorative plaid spheres as you would like.
You can use these rag spheres as ornaments on a tree or garland or just place them in a decorative bowl.
