I love making fun Halloween treats. Since there are no “traditional” Halloween dishes, you can basically take any delicious snack, add a spooky twist, and you have a Halloween treat! I made some fun, and easy, Mummy Munch and Frankenstein Crackers that are perfect for a Halloween party or movie night.
MUMMY MUNCH AND FRANKENSTEIN CRACKERS
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE HALLOWEEN SNACKS
I took a lot of help from the store for these easy recipes. You can definitely make these snacks totally from scratch, but using microwave caramel corn and packaged cracker sandwiches cuts your prep time in half!
For the Frankenstein crackers, you will need:
- Peanut butter sandwich crackers
- Green candy melts
- Small candy eyes
- Black gel icing
For the Mummy Munch snack mix, you will need:
- Microwave caramel popcorn
- Oat cereal (like Cheerios)
- Almond bark
- Small candy eyes
HOW TO MAKE SCARY FRANKENSTEIN CRACKERS
The base of these tasty treats is peanut butter cracker sandwiches. Their blocky shape is already a great shape for Frankenstein’s head.
Begin by melting green candy melts in the microwave. Start by heating them for about 30 seconds, then stirring the candy melts. If they aren’t completely melted, put them back in the microwave for 10-second intervals until they stir completely smooth.
Drop the crackers into the candy melts, one at a time, fish them out with a fork and lay them on parchment paper. While the candy melts are still soft, add two candy eyeballs to each cracker.
Once the candy hardens, use black gel icing to add a bit of hair to the top of the Frankenstein crackers. These are honestly so delicious, and they are easy enough to make that your kids can help!

MUMMY MUNCH RECIPE
Next up was a bowl of Mummy Munch to share! The base of this sweet and salty snack is caramel corn. You can choose to make it yourself, but it’s easier and less messy to find microwave caramel corn at the store.
This fun Halloween snack mix is great for movie nights with your family. If you are looking for some spooky shows to watch, be sure to check out my Halloween Movie Bucket List Printable.
For this mix, pop two bags of caramel popcorn in the microwave. Mix it together with oat cereal and spread it out on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Melt the almond bark in the microwave, and drizzle it all over the popcorn and cereal mixture. Finally, top the mix off with some candy eyeballs. Give the snack mix a toss with a spatula or tongs and let the almond bark harden.
