We won’t be seeing any actual outdoor flowers for a few weeks yet here in the North, so I have to make my own blooms indoors. You can quickly make a whole bouquet of functioning pinwheel flowers in just minutes with a few basic supplies. Tuck them into a Mother’s Day bouquet, set them up on a windowsill, or just spend a few minutes with your kids making them spin!
You can make the pinwheel flowers in a rainbow of colors using whatever washi tape you like best! Any width or pattern will work.
If you can’t find a package of paper straws in multiple colors, choosing green straws would act as pretty flower “stems.” You could even add construction paper leaves to the stems of the pinwheels!
When your pinwheels are finished stick the straws into a small container of play dough so they will stand up straight. You can find multi-packs of dough at the dollar store.
See how easy the pinwheels are to make by watching the short video below. If you liked this tutorial, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel, so you don’t miss any crazy good creativity.
I have put together a list of affiliate links for all the products I used in this tutorial. If you choose to purchase after clicking through, I will receive a small commission. Thanks!
