YOU GUYS AREN’T GOING TO BELIEVE MY GENIUS IDEA

This story is called “There and Back Again” or “I Have a Laundry Problem.”

It’s laundry day.  I put a load of clothes in the washer and then transfer them to the dryer.  After emptying the dryer, I fill it up with another load of dirty clothes.  When it’s finished running, I try to move that load over to the dryer and… the dryer is still working.

No problem, I think to myself.  I will just come back in an hour and switch things out.  An hour turns to three, which turns to overnight (or over the weekend).  When I finally open the washer to switch out the laundry, the putrid stench of musty wet clothes hits me smack in the olfactory system.  A cup of vinegar goes into a hot water cycle to get the already clean clothes re-cleaned.  What should have been a 2 hour job is now on its 4th day.  WHYYYYYYY???

But I have a solution: High end kitchens have dual ovens, why shouldn’t laundry rooms have dual dryers?

Load A is washed in the washer and moved to the top dryer for drying.  Load B goes into the washer.

The now clean Load B is moved to the bottom dryer for drying.  Load C goes into the available washer.

By the time Load C is ready to come out of the washer, Load A is ready to come out of the dryer.

NO WAITING TO MOVE CLOTHES FROM THE WASHER TO THE DRYER.  The end.

Genius, I know.
