Plaid has been debuting some really gorgeous special finish paints over the past few years, so it might be difficult to keep them all straight! To help you understand which product is best for your creative project, I have put together this post to show you the difference between Dragonfly Glaze and Color Shift. While both have stunning color shifting properties, each product has special features that will make your next craft project shine!
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DRAGONFLY GLAZE AND COLOR SHIFT PAINT?
WHAT IS COLOR SHIFT PAINT?
The FolkArt Color Shift paint “creates luster with colors that shift in changing light.” This means that the paint has a metallic finish that shifts from one color to another as light hits it from different angles. Color Shift is a water-based craft paint that can be used for both indoor and outdoor projects. FolkArt added three new colors to the Color Shift line this year, bringing the total number of colors up to 15.

WHAT IS DRAGONFLY GLAZE?
The brand new Dragonfly Glaze’s “extraordinary pigments create an iridescent finish allowing multiple colors to be viewed from different angles.” This means that Dragonfly Glaze allows you to add a shimmering, color-shifting finish over light and dark base colors. It is a glaze, not a paint, so the base color will show through the layer (or layers) of Dragonfly Glaze.

can you use these products on cement projects?
I’m not sure! I will look into it, and update this comment when I find an answer.
I use on my painted cement rocks. Works great.
I’m missing the youtube link to the video in which you compare colorshift and dragon glaze. The only link that I could find was the one to your channel.
The video itself is embedded in the post. It might have shrunk down to fit in your sidebar as you scrolled down the page.
Can Color Shift paints be used with a pouring medium without changing it’s properties?
I haven’t tried this, but I would guess that the Color Shift paint would work just fine with a pouring medium. I wouldn’t recommend it with the Dragonfly Glaze because I think it would dilute the pigments too much to have them still shift colors.
