UPCYCLED COFFEE CONTAINER TOY STORAGE

March 9, 2016 by madincrafts 1 Comment

Upcycled Coffee Container Toy Storage

I love me some coffee in the morning (and afternoon and evenings), so we go through coffee fairly quickly in The Mad House.  That means that I end up with quite a few of those plastic coffee containers in our recycling bin.  Instead of recycling them, I decided to upcycle them into some storage for the kids’ smaller toys.  The lids snap on tightly which makes them great for storage.  Having a half dozen identical storage bins could get a bit confusing, though, so I devised a quick solution.

All you will need to upcycle those coffee cans into organized toy storage is some white duct tape and a clean, empty coffee container.  You can use additional patterned tape for decoration, but it isn’t necessary.  Whichever route you go, make sure you leave a large label-sized portion of the white duct tape visible.

The white duct tape works just like a whiteboard, so you can write on it with a dry erase marker and wipe it off to change the label on the storage.  We can use the container to keep track of my daughter’s collection of tiny princesses (they obviously like to share outfits).

Or we can corral all the itty bitty pieces from her Playmobil set.  Yes, I spelled Playmobil wrong on this label.  Good thing the marker is eraseable!

What do you do with all your empty coffee containers?  I am sure there are more creative ways you could use them.
