Glade® BRIGHTENING UP DETROIT TO SPREAD HOLIDAY CHEER

December 11, 2015 by madincrafts 1 Comment

I recently told you about Glade’s #FeelJoy campaign to install a little joy into the community. I visited the Detroit Youth Boxing Gym to see @Glade ‘s beautiful light display. The lights will available to view now through January 15th. #ad

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Glade®. All opinions are my own.

Our Christmas tree is up, and I am gazing at the lights as I write this post. The Glade® BE AT PEACE™ scent is filling the room with balsam fir and juniper, so I can relax and pretend our artificial tree is freshly cut. The BE AT PEACE™ and CHERISH THE PRESENT™ Jar Candles are part of the Glade® Limited Edition Winter Collection, and are the perfect scents for a relaxing, cozy evening in.

Soon I will climb up on a ladder while my husband hands the strings of outdoor lights up to me. Every year we outline our porch roof in colored lights. Fewer and fewer people are decorating their homes with lights in my town, but there are still some of us that do. I love driving through the city at night and pointing out all the lighted houses to my kids in the backseat. We will often go out of our way to look at the prettiest displays while we listen to Christmas carols on the radio. I hope that my kids remember these little moments of holiday joy when they are older.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I helped Glade® pick a location in Detroit to decorate and bring extra holiday joy to this season. According to a survey conducted by Glade, 73% of Americans wish they had more time to enjoy the little things that make the season great. That’s why Glade® turned Black Friday into Bright Friday. My husband and I visited the Glade® light display at the Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program last week. This was the only display of holiday lights in the area. I so enjoyed seeing this spot of holiday brightness in the middle of the neighborhood.

Michigan got a few inches of snow the day before I visited the gym, which always makes the lights look even more magical. I hope that you stop to take in these little, joyous moments as you come across them this season.

If you are in the area, I would love to hear if you visit the Bright Friday light installation. They will be up at the Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program (6445 E. Vernon Hwy., Detroit) through January 15, 2015. You can find out more about what Glade® is doing this holiday season at FeelingsofJoy.com, and share your moments of joy using the #FeelJoy hashtag.

What a great cause. The gym looks so beautiful. The lights are so bright and festive. What a great way to spread some Christmas cheer.
    Thanks for sharing.
