I have done SO MUCH research about houseplants in the past year and a half. Each time I buy a new plant, I look up all the information I need to make sure I am giving it proper care. And then half of the time, I promptly forget that new-found information. That’s why I created this free printable plant care guide. When you bring home a new plant friend, you can gather information about its care and document it. These sheets then become useful resources as your plant grows!

USING THE PLANT GUIDE
Begin by printing out a plant care guide page for each of your houseplants. It’s best to keep the printables all together in a binder or clipped to a clipboard.
Now it’s time to fill out a guide for each plant. Write the type of plant and the plant’s nickname at the top of the guide. You can skip the second line if you don’t name your plants, but I really recommend naming them!
The largest section of the printable is for details about the type of plant itself. The ideal conditions for your pothos are going to be very different from the ideal conditions for your fiddle leaf fig. How do you propagate that plant if you would like to start a new plant? Are fungus gnats an issue for that species or are aphids a more common pest? Do you have to put the plant on a shelf to keep it away from your cat? There is a wealth of information on the internet about different types of plants, so this is your chance to do a bit of research.
Water and sunlight are crucial to the survival of your houseplant, so I added specific sections for each of these factors. If your plant prefers low moisture, circle the single water droplet. If it needs frequent watering and higher humidity, circle the triple droplets. The next section deals with your plant’s lighting level needs. Circle the dark sun if your plant can tolerate low-light situations. The half-sun is for plants who prefer moderate light. And the full sun indicates that the plant needs bright light.
Finally, I added a section where you can write in your own notes. You can use this space to keep track of plant growth or to indicate where in your house this plant is located.
