HOW TO PLAY ALPHABET BINGO
My ABC bingo game is best suited for preschoolers, kindergarteners, and primary grade students who are working on letter recognition and letter sounds.
After you have printed the PDFs of the alphabet bingo cards and calling cards onto cardstock, you will need to cut the calling card tiles along the dotted lines. Place those cards into a bowl or a hat.
You can choose to give individual kids their own cards or have them work in small groups. Each student or team should be given a pile of bingo markers. Pom poms, gems, stickers, or squares of scrap paper all work well.
The teacher will then pull a letter from the bowl and show it to the class. Alternatively, the teacher may just make the phonemic sound of the letter (if you are working on matching letters of the alphabet with their sounds).
If the student has that letter on his board, he would cover it with a marker. When a student has covered five letters in a row (vertically, horizontally, or diagonally), she will call out BINGO!
You can decide whether to keep that round going or to have everyone wipe their bingo boards of all markers and start a new round.
