Although it has become a job that I love as well, crafting started as a hobby for me. It calms me down when I am stressed out, and it gives me a feeling of accomplishment when I am feeling overwhelmed. Even with all the crafting I do for work, I still have days when I find myself itching to just paint something! It only takes a quick Google search to find plenty of studies that tout the benefits of crafts for mental health. Even if you do not consider yourself crafty in the least, I HIGHLY recommend a bit of creativity when you are feeling stressed. You do not need any artistic skills to do these easy stress relief crafts.
I am thankful to Plaid for partnering me with on this project! Plaid makes some of my very favorite craft paints, and they are perfect for this project.

PAINTED GIFT WRAP FOR STRESS RELIEF
I’m obviously a big fan of making use of creative outlets for stress, but I have another favorite way of making myself feel better when I am down. When you are feeling crappy, do something nice for someone else. It’s a sure-fire way to brighten someone’s day AND cheer yourself up.
When you make DIY gift wrap, you get the best of both worlds. Spend some time getting your hands messy with craft paint to create happy, colorful gift tags, bags, and cards. Then use that gift wrap to package a small gift for someone in your life.
Having a stockpile of gift wrap is always a good thing. When you are having a stressful week, sit yourself down at a table and bust out as many of these as it takes to help you feel a little better. Then the next time you need a card or a gift bag, you won’t have to worry about running to the store!
