This video will show how ridiculously easy it is to make a pan of these tasty treats. I release two new videos each week on the Mad in Crafts YouTube channel, so hop over and subscribe today!
THE SECRET INGREDIENT TO THESE EASY BARS
I will let you in on the top-secret trick to these awesome bars: the grocery store. The recipe calls for a package of sugar cookie dough mix and a canister of frosting. SCANDAL!
While I do like baking from scratch, there are some times when you just don’t have to measure, sift, cream, and bake. And when the result of semi-homemade cookie bars tastes this delicious, any guilt about taking help from the store go right out the window!
DECORATING THE SUGAR COOKIE BARS
I made this batch of sugar cookie bars for a school Valentine’s Day party, but you can make them for any occasion. You can dress up the sugar cookie base in different ways just by varying the frosting and the sprinkles. Add a little food coloring to the frosting after you have melted it, or try different flavors of frosting altogether (I am partial to cream cheese frosting). Just remember, if all else fails, rainbow sprinkles are always a welcome addition to the party.
