I have already shared two other ways to dress up dollar store phone cases this week. Be sure to check out my Sequined, Earbud Holding Phone Case and Copper Foil Phone Case tutorials if you missed them. This last DIY can have really great results if you have a bit of patience. Learn how to upgrade your phone with a nail polish marbled phone case.
I picked up a few colors of dollar store nail polish when I bought the phone case. You will also need a disposable bowl and some warm water. I also used masking tape to cover certain parts of my phone case, but that is totally optional.
It’s important that the water is warm and that you work quickly with the nail polish. Dollar store polish works great for this project because it takes a while to dry, but it will still set up on you if move too slowly. Prep your phone by masking off any areas you don’t want to end up marbled. Then drizzle the polish onto the water, until you like the way it looks. Place the phone case parallel to the surface of the water, and slowly submerge it in the water. Pull the case back out and check out your marble design!
You will want to carefully remove the masking tape while the nail polish is still wet, but then avoid handling the case until the nail polish has completely dried.
You now have a one of a kind phone case and enough nail polish left over to paint your nails to match!
I hope you liked these creative phone case tutorials this week. It was a fun challenge to see if I could come up with simple and inexpensive ways to upgrade a dollar store case. Let me know if you liked this week’s projects and maybe I will come up with another challenge down the line.
