Everybody knows that the best use for overripe bananas is a good loaf of banana bread, but the effort of making the bread is off-putting. The stirring and the mixing, the pouring and the scraping. Not my idea of a fun afternoon. Fortunately, I discovered that you can make the batter for banana bread IN A BLENDER. The technique is so easy, you will be wanting to make blender banana bread every week!
I used my new Braun PureMix blender to make the batter for my banana bread, and it was SO easy. Next time I will let my kids help too, since it is a simple, and relatively low-mess, process. I put all the ingredients in individual bowls to make it prettier for this picture, but you could save yourself a lot of dirty dishes by using one measuring cup and pouring directly into the blender.
I started by liquifying (my computer says that is not a word) all the wet ingredients, the bananas, and the sugar. This took about 10 seconds in my Braun blender because this blender does not mess around.
I sifted the dry ingredients and added half of them into the blender. I used the puree setting to mix the dry with the wet, and then added the rest of the dry ingredients to the mix. More pureeing, stopping to scrape down the sides of the blender, and my batter was done. Honestly, this whole process maybe took 2 minutes.
I used the handy pour spout on the blender to pour my batter directly into a greased bread pan. I baked the bread for a good hour and we had delicious homemade banana bread!
I hope this quick recipe saves you from throwing away any bananas that set too long in your fruit bowl! Find more great recipes and ideas on the Braun Household Pinterest account.
