On my most recent trip to Dollar Tree I spotted some fun items on a shelf marked as gifts for Mother’s Day. The shelf held letter openers and bookmarks with metal and gem embellishments. Some were flowers and some were pretty peacocks. The peacock letter openers reminded me of the Betsey Johnson necklace from Nordstrom’s, so I bought two to bring home for some crafty experiments. The result was this pretty and simple designer inspired necklace!
When I bought the opener the gems on the peacock were white, so I used a technique I learned from Aunt Peaches to give them the translucent emerald color. A little bit of green Sharpie is all it takes!
