I know it seems a bit early to be thinking about snowflakes, but I am already getting the urge to create Christmas crafts! I was able to partner with Sculpey to use some new-to-me craft supplies to create lovely ornaments quickly and easily. You only need a handful of supplies to make snowflake ornaments with Liquid Sculpey in just 15 minutes!

I had never worked with Liquid Sculpey before, but it is an amazing craft product! The product is packaged in bottles with squeeze tops that are very similar to the kind that comes with school glue, so using the squeeze bottle is familiar and comfortable. Liquid Sculpey can be used to hold pieces of Sculpey Clay together, to glaze clay, or in silicone molds to create shapes on its own. You bake the product in the oven at 300 degrees for 15 minutes for projects that are less than 1/4 inch thick (30 minutes for project thicker than this).
I used the Liquid Sculpey with Sculpey’s mandala mold. If you saw my recap of Creativation 2017, you saw that mandalas were one of the major craft trends I noticed. This thin silicone mold allows you to use a small amount of Liquid Sculpey to create delicate and detailed mandalas. The mold comes with the scraper you will need to remove the excess Liquid Sculpey. You only need a tiny amount of the product to create the mandala shapes, and you can scrape the excess liquid back into the bottle so you don’t waste product. One bottle of Liquid Sculpey would make you countless snowflake ornaments!
The finished mandalas come out of the silicone mold so easily! The lacy shapes are flexible even after baking, so you don’t have to worry about shattering any of the minuscule details of the design.
Since it is so quick and easy to make these ornaments, I created all of these shapes in roughly an hour.
After I had created the mandala snowflakes, all I had to do was add ornament hangers and hang them on a tree! Their detailed design makes them look like shimmering snowflakes!
I have a few other ideas for the Liquid Sculpey and the mandala mold. What would you use them to make?

Thanks for this terrific info. I was looking to buy acrylic contour paint in Australia, & I couldn’t find it, to make snowflakes for my daughter’s xmas tree. But your creation with liquid squalpy was brilliant!
