A few weeks ago, I was chatting with other creative bloggers and discussing what we thought the top trends of the summer were. I like to think I am good at spotting what is currently popular, but I was honestly a little stumped for current hot trends. BUT, I think I have put my finger on this summer’s go-to pattern — tropical leaves.
It may have really gotten into the zeitgeist with the popularity (and mass hysteria) surrounding Target’s Lilly Pulitzer line. Miami colors and floral patterns hit the mainstream and summer’s high temps have only made tropical patterns more timely. I have rounded up 10 of my favorite palm-centric DIYs that I have seen around the internet lately. Enjoy!

TROPICAL IPHONE WALLPAPER – SARA FUNDUK: If you want to get in on the palm pattern trend, but don’t have time for a DIY, you can download this pretty wallpaper to your iphone.
PALM DECOUPAGED BALLOONS – STUDIO DIY: These pretty decoupaged balloons are part of the palm party I featured earlier. The balloons can be used separately to decorate a backyard cookout too!
PALM LEAF BAG – ENCOURAGE FASHION: This quick tote makeover uses palm leaves as a paint mask. This is probably the quickest DIY on this list.
TROPICAL LEAF PILLOW – CURBLY: You will need a minimal amount of sewing skills to make this pretty pillow. but the punchy result is worth your efforts.
TROPICAL HAT BAND – MAKE AND TELL: I envy women who can pull off large print hats in the summer. They look so stylish and cool! This tropical band makes me want to try the look again myself.
PALM FROND WALL ART – MONSTERS CIRCUS: I can’t say enough about this gorgeous DIY. It is everything good about minimalism in a frame. Love it.
