Sometimes I need an easy craft project that will give me a quick crafty win. These dollar store leaf earrings will take you about 10 minutes to make, and you will love the results. This same technique can be used with any of the small kraft embellishments that you can find at your local dollar store.

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE EASY DOLLAR STORE EARRINGS
I found these kraft embellishments in the aisle of the Dollar Tree where they stock their crafting supplies. They change their selection out pretty frequently so you might not be able to find these exact shapes, but they will likely have something cute that you can use!

HOW TO MAKE EARRINGS WITH DOLLAR STORE MATERIALS
I wanted to add some fun color blocking to these leaf shapes. I picked out a few paint colors from my stash that I thought would be pretty for spring. You don’t have to stop at just painting the shapes. Add glitter, tassels, or gold leaf. Let your creativity shine!
Easy Dollar Store Leaf Earrings
- Cover half of each leaf shape with painter’s tape.
Keep the way the earrings will hang from the ear in mind when you place the tape.
- Paint a thin coat of craft paint onto the exposed embellishment.
Paint may goop up in the interior parts of the design. Tapping the piece on your work surface can help that paint to fall.
- Carefully remove the painter’s tape.
The dollar store embellishments are kraft board, not wood, so be very careful that you don’t rip the surface off of the embellishment.
- Add jump rings and earring findings to the embellishments.
EASY DIY EARRINGS
In just a few minutes you will have three new pairs of botanical earrings! The leaf shapes are each about 2 inches long, so they make really pretty statement earrings.
Since the leaf shapes aren’t wood, these earrings won’t last forever, but for a few bucks and a few minutes of your time, you can have some fun seasonal earrings. I think that’s a great bargain!
