Have you noticed the growing trend of fiber craft wall hangings lately? Whether they are woven, knit or made of pom poms, these pieces add soft texture to typically flat wall decor. When I spotted a bunny-shaped plastic trellis at Dollar Tree, I was inspired to make my own (super cheap) version of this new trend, a yarn pom Easter Bunny.
While you can use a store-bought pom maker to make the poms for this project, you can also just use a big fork which is what I did. I made 60 yarn poms for my piece, but the number you will need will depend on the weight of your yarn, how many times you wrap the fork, the size of the fork you use, etc. Just sit yourself down in front of a good series on Netflix and start wrapping!
Watch this video to see how to turn a plastic dollar store trellis into this cute bunny decoration. I release two videos every week on my YouTube channel, so hop over and subscribe if you haven’t already.
Right now I have my bunny leaning on a table with some other spring decorations, but you could also add a small hanging loop on the back of the bunny so you can hang it on a wall or door. You can also customize yours by choosing different colors or styles of yarn. If you make your own version, please share it on social media and tag @madincrafts so I can see it!
