If you have been a fan of Mad in Crafts for a while, you might remember that after I redecorated my daughter’s bedroom I shared a tutorial for stenciled watercolors. It has been one of my (and Pinterest’s) favorite tutorials ever since. I wanted to show you just how easy it is to create pretty stenciled watercolors artwork, even if you don’t have an artistic bone in your body!
You can buy a watercolor paint set, watercolor paper, and a pretty stencil at the craft store for very little money. These supplies are all you will need to make colorful artwork that is suitable for framing! Watch the video below to see the process in action. If you like this video, subscribe to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss any crazy good video tutorials.
I have put together a list of affiliate links for all the products I used in this tutorial. If you choose to purchase after clicking through, I will receive a small commission. Thanks!

I just started getting into watercolor and I love this technique you tried! Adding it to my list of things to try! And off to pin.

I’d tried this with my kid, he used q-tips to color the insides of a circles thru a stencil with a single color. That was a while ago, shall try this once more.

That's a great way to get young kids involved! And a good chance to work on fine motor skills too.
