This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Andre Champagne for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
I think the general thought about champagne is that it is for special occasions. That is a double-edged sword. On one hand, whenever you drink it, you feel special. But, it also means that people tend to only buy it when there is a big event.
Psht. Who needs to wait for a special event to have a glass of bubbly goodness! You can make any get-together epic by serving champagne. If you want to go completely over the top — and, of course, you do — then you can wrap that champagne bottle with rhinestones before you serve it. It’s simpler than you think.
I started with a bottle of Andre Brut, but you could use any variety of Andre Champagne: Brut, Extra Dry, Blush, Cold Duck, Spumante, etc.
You will also need double sided tape and Bling on a Roll (affiliate link). Bling on a Roll is a mesh ribbon that has the appearance of rhinestones, but which can be cut easily with scissors.
Soak the bottle in water for a bit to loosen the labels so they can be removed. Cut the Bling on a Roll to fit around the bottle and adhere it to the sides with double sided tape.
When you get to the neck of the bottle, you will either need to use narrower Bling on a Roll or cut the wider roll down to accommodate the angle of the bottle.
Continue wrapping and taping until you reach the top of the bottle’s neck. This took me maybe a half an hour to do.
Of course, you want your champagne glassware to sparkle as much as the bottle! Run a line of tape around the lip of the glasses, and then cover the tape with more Bling on a Roll. The tape and bling can be removed and tossed before washing.
You can obviously make a rhinestone bottle like this for a fancy party or a girls’ night out, but I think it would be even more fun for a casual night in. Why save the bling for a special occasion, right?
