This week I have been sharing how I decorated our front porch for fall. Instead of using traditional reds, browns, and oranges, I chose a color palette anchored with metallic bronze and purple. Take a look at how it all turned out!
I refreshed some fall items from my stash with paint to make this pretty ombre wreath that matches the other colors on the porch.
I used the same paint colors on my pumpkins that I did on the leaves of the front door wreath. I hadn’t even considered matching purple with bronze before, but I am totally into it now.
I am not-so-patiently wanting for all these mum buds to blossom! Last year, our mums didn’t bloom like I had hoped, and I am so wanting two big planters full of purple flowers this year.
Looking at this picture, I am realizing that we really need a new welcome mat. I love this Threshold one, so I have been holding onto it. But after a few years of weathering Michigan weather, I think it is reaching the end of its run.
If you turn from the front door and look down the length of the porch, you will see the ways I have spruced up our seating area for fall.
I put the orange and linen fall pillow covers back onto my outdoor pillows. I quickly made up some purple velvet covers for the blue lumbar pillows to tie this area in with the front door decorations.
I found plaid and check fabric in my stash that happened to work with the colors of the porch, so I draped them over the seats like blankets.
As much as I like our red, white, and blue summer porch, I like decorating our porch for autumn most of all. What do you do to dress up the outside of your home for fall?
