HOW TO PLAY THE THIS OR THAT GAME
Once you have saved the PDF to your computer, print the game out on a color printer. I recommend printing one sheet off for every person who is playing (although you could also choose to print just one copy for the person moderating the discussion). Give everyone a minute or two to choose their preferences from each of the pairings. Don’t let anyone waffle. They have to make a choice!
Once everyone has locked in his or her answers, go through the list to see how much the group agrees (or disagrees) about each of the pairs. I use This or That games in my Instagram Stories frequently, and I love to see how diverse people’s opinions are.
If you are using this in the classroom, consider using this as a springboard for teaching students how to respectfully debate each other. Pick a topic where the opinions are evenly split among your students, then have them defend their opinions. Respectfully disagreeing with other people is a skill more adults could stand to learn!
