One of my very favorite things about summer is sitting around a fire with my friends and family. The heat of summer, not to mention the campfire, can do a number on your beverage of choice. A good koozie is essential for a great night around the fire. I found out how to personalize koozies with iron-on vinyl. and I want to share the easy process with you!
You can order sets of plain koozies on Amazon. I will link to all the supplies I used at the end of this post.
I used the Design Space app to send this canvas to my Cricut Maker. Most koozies are a standard size, but it is a good idea to double check that the dimensions of the design are correct for your koozies before cutting. Also, make sure to mirror the image before starting the cut!
Sit down with some good music or a podcast and get all the weeding done. There are some very small details in this design. The Maker cut the vinyl perfectly, but you want to make sure you don’t mess up the design while weeding out the excess vinyl.
Align the design on the side of the koozie and press into place. Place a pressing cloth over the design and iron according to the vinyl’s directions.
Let the design cool for a minute, then remove the plastic sheet protecting the design. Place the pressing cloth over the design and iron one more time.
Now your personalized koozies are ready for your next campfire!
These koozies would be a very thoughtful gift for a family who has just bought a new camper or who are going camping for the first time. I’d probably pair them with a 6 pack of their favorite beer to complete the gift!
