Moving into a new home is a milestone — especially if you have bought your first house. I think important milestones should be celebrated, so today I am sharing this thoughtful housewarming gift basket tutorial.
HOUSEWARMING GIFT BASKET
WHAT I PUT IN MY HOUSEWARMING GIFT
I was inspired by the scene in It’s a Wonderful Life where George and Mary Bailey are moving the Martini family into their first home. Each portion of the gift has a saying that goes along with it, in this case in the form of printable tags.

HOW TO PUT TOGETHER A HOUSEWARMING GIFT BASKET
Begin by ordering a personalized stamp for the new homeowner’s address. I used a custom stamp from Expressionery, but you can find custom stamps on Amazon as well. These custom stamps are a thoughtful and useful gift for anyone who has moved into a new house.
Flesh out the gift basket with the three traditional housewarming gifts: salt, bread, and wine. If possible, look for products that are made and sold locally. This can help them discover great small businesses in their new neighborhood.
Add the printable tags to each gift and then nestle them all into the gift basket. If you would like, you can wrap the whole thing up in cellophane to protect the gift from the elements.
