I know it seems early to be thinking about Christmas gifts already, but the holidays will be here before you know it! This week on Crafty Hangouts, creative bloggers will be sharing tutorials for simple homemade gifts using labels from Online Labels. I will be adding two tutorials to the mix, starting with this simple scented salt scrub tutorial.
The secret to being able to make a different salt scrub scent for each gift is this:
Hard candy flavoring oils! You can find dozens of varieties online to customize the scrub for each person who will receive the gift!
Finish off the gift with a customized label on the lid of the jar. These are the 2.5″ Circle Labels (#OL350) from Online Labels in gold foil. You can find the printable version of these labels here: Salt_Scrub_Labels
I have gathered up links so you can purchase the rest of the project materials online, if you choose. These are affiliate links, so if you make a purchase after visiting one of these links I will receive a small commission. Thanks!
Online Labels also wants to help you out with your holiday shopping! Three winners will receive Target gift cards so Santa’s list can be even longer this year. The grand prize winner will win a $200 gift card, and two other winners will each receivea $100 gift card. Enter using the Rafflecopter widget below.

Could essential oils be used instead of hard candy oils?
madincrafts says
Absolutely! You would have to change the amount of oil, of course.
Marcie says
How would I change the amount? Base it on how it smells?

Hi! I’ve been doing some research on how to make salt scrubs, and the consensus seems to be about 10-20 drops of the essential oil of your choice (or perhaps a mix of a few), based both on how much scrub you’re making and how strong you want it to smell. If you’re making a lot, then you would use more. It’s all in the experimentation, but I’d start out with small amounts-both of essential oil and of the scrub, that way you can increase it if you wish, rather than starting out with a lot and having to scrap the whole thing. Hope this helps!
