This is a sponsored post on behalf of Target. I was compensated for my work, but all opinions are 100% my own.
Just in case you needed one more reason to visit Target, I have some news. Keep your eyes open when you first walk through their doors because American Crafts has put together a special line of products to be sold for $1-$3 in the One Spot! I adore American Crafts products. I even made valentines using their papers this time last year. Having AC’s great stuff available for cheap and at Target is exciting.
I mean, are you even kidding me? These are not cheapo craft supplies, these are American Crafts products! Target is carrying over 40 amazing products, ranging from cute Valentine’s Day themed stickers and washi tape to kraft and chalkboard style basics. If you see them in your Target’s One Spot, grab them by the handful because I predict these bad boys aren’t going to last long on the shelves. I took some of my supplies and turned them into glittering instagram frames that I can give as Valentine’s Day gifts.
First, you need to cut a piece of the glitter paper to the dimensions shown in the image above. This will create the frame that will go around your 4×4 photo. If you don’t have a printer to print out your favorite instagrams, you can cut regular photos down to size.
Then just tape the photo to the back of the glitter frame and add some of the adorable valentine stickers. I also chose to back the frame with a piece of cardstock to make the frame more sturdy. (BTW If you don’t hate this picture of me already, you will by the time this post is done.)
Next, you will be making the easel for the photo frame out of paper straws and hot glue.
1) Hot glue the tops of two straws together to form an upside down V shape.
2) Hot glue another straw to the top of the V shape to create a teepee.
3) Cut a fourth straw in half and glue it onto the V shape to serve as a cross piece.
4) Stand the easel up to make sure it is steady.
The paper straw easel is surprisingly sturdy, and it makes a great stand for the glittery frames.
Pop the frames onto the cross piece of the easel, and your Valentine frame is done!
You can choose to fill the frames with pictures of your Valentine, or you can pick shots of places that are special to you. This is a photo of the lake where my family goes camping every summer.
You can keep the frames for yourself, but they also make sweet gifts for Valentine’s Day. Add a little bit of chocolate into the mix, and you can’t go wrong.
I am going to give the red frame to my mom so she can keep the photo of her grandkids on her desk at work. Maybe I will even make my husband take that crazy picture of me into work with him! What photos would you put inside of your glittery instagram frames?
