HOW TO USE THE FREE MAD LIBS PRINTABLES
I created this mad lib PDF so it can be played with a group, as a pair, or by a single person. When you download and print the PDF, you will get two sheets of paper: one with the story and with blanks for your answers. Simply fill out the answer sheet with the words of your choice in pen or pencil. The type of word needed is indicated on the sheet with the blanks.
Then fill in the blanks of the story with your crazy answers to create your own silly stories! The numbers on the story sheet correspond to your numbered answers on the blank sheet. Mad libs are always good for some silly fun and lots of laughter! If you want to do the story over again, just print the PDF of the answer sheet again and choose different words.
Mad libs are a fun way to work on grammar skills and vocabulary skills either in the classroom or at home. Here is a quick grammar refresher course on the different parts of speech in case you are rusty:
- noun = a person, place, or thing
- verb = a word that describes action, state, or occurrence (an -ed verb is a verb that ends in -ed)
- adjective = a word that describes a noun
- adverb = a word that describes a verb
- interjection = an abrupt remark, something that you might shout
