PRINTING & USING THE PRINTABLE MAD LIBS
Regular printer paper is fine for worksheets like these mad libs. Load your color printer with the paper, and change the settings on your computer to make sure you are printing at the highest quality so the colors look crisp.
You can choose to print out one master copy of the printable to play as a group, or you can pair off into groups of two and give each group its own copy. One person will ask the other for words that fit the prompts in the blank. The other person gives funny answers without knowing what the story is about. Finally, the story is read with the suggested words so everyone can laugh at the silly Christmas story.
Mad libs are a fun game to play in the classroom, on road trips, or during a family get-together. The age range for playing mad libs is basically 3-100+. Once everyone has had a refresher on the parts of speech (adverbs, adjectives, etc.), you can have a ball creating silly short stories together. They are a fun way to work on vocabulary skills and reading comprehension while playing with friends and family.
