WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE CLOTHESPIN ELF PUPPETS
Usually regular printer paper is fine for the printables I share here on the blog, but I would recommend using heavier weight paper for these Christmas clothespin puppets for longevity’s sake. You can make them with standard paper, but they will be floppy and prone to ripping.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE THESE PRINTABLE CHRISTMAS ELF PUPPETS
Younger kids can do the coloring and folding of these puppets, but an adult will probably need to cut the puppets out along the lines. Once the puppets are complete, kids of all ages will have lots of fun creating fun Christmas skits with them.
How to Make Clothespin Puppets
- Print the full-color PDFs on heavy-weight paper.
- Color the elf using crayons, colored pencils, or markers.
- Cut the elf out with scissors.
- Fold along the lines at the top and bottom of the mouth, as well as on the dotted line in the center of the mouth.
- Attach a clothespin to the back of the mouth’s folds and tape it in place.
HOW TO USE CLOTHESPIN PUPPETS
Clothespin puppets are super easy and fun to use! Pinching the clothespin open and closed will cause the puppet’s mouth to open and close. This is a great way for younger kids to practice their fine motor skills and pretend play.
I hope you make fun holiday memories playing and creating with these elf clothespin puppets!
