If you’ve been a reader of Mad in Crafts for a while, you already know that I am a big fan of laid back home entertaining, I believe in making your guests feel at home, not fussed over, when they come over. But that doesn’t mean you can’t serve memorable recipes like this fancy-looking Prosecco raspberry sorbet dessert.
The presentation of the dessert is beautiful enough to make your dinner guests feel extra special, but you don’t have to neglect them for an hour to prepare it. All you need for this dessert is Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG, fresh raspberries, and raspberry sorbet. Feel free to sing a version of the classic Prince song as you prepare the dessert. I know I did. While you can serve this dessert in any bowl you happen to own, I think it looks the best in a martini glass or a large champagne coupe. Serving a dessert in stemmed glassware elevates it, figuratively and literally.
Scoop a serving of raspberry sorbet into the glass and top it with 2-3 ounces of prosecco.
Obviously you will want to do this right before serving, or even at the dinner table itself, so that the prosecco is still bubbly when you serve the dessert. Garnish with a few fresh raspberries and you are done!
Don’t just save the bubbly for once a year special occasions. Pick up a bottle from the selection of Santa Margherita Wines and enjoy an evening with the people you care about most!
