What Do You Need to Make Lotion Bars
Making your own lotion bars is really simple! To be successful, you need a few ingredients that you can buy from a soap making store or online. You can pour your lotion mixture into any silicone mold. I used a cheap pineapple ice cube mold from Dollar Tree and then scented the lotion with pineapple candy oil. You can use this same process to create lotion bars of any shape and scent that you choose!
I used shimmer powder from the cosmetics aisle at the dollar store, but this is a great place to use up old eyeshadows, highlighters, or blushes. The more you add to the mixture, the more shimmer the lotion will leave on your skin.

How to Store and Use Lotion Bars
Use these lotion bars by rubbing them against your skin. The warmth of your skin will melt them enough to spread the lotion out and let it soak into your skin. Depending on the amount of shimmer pigment you added to the mixture, your skin will be left soft and moisturized with a slight shimmer. When you are not using the lotion bars, I recommend storing them in an airtight container (a mason jar works well). Keep them out of direct sunlight and high heat to keep them from melting. Use the lotion bars within a few weeks of making them for best results.
