It seems like a shame to spend so much effort decorating your house for Christmas only to take it down after just a few weeks. One of the things I love about buffalo check is that it can read both Christmas and Winter. You can definitely get away with leaving buffalo check decorations up long after Christmas has past. I decorated a cute plaid bunting I found at Target with some iron-on vinyl to create a buffalo check mason jar bunting that can stay up all winter long!
Each day this week, I will share a new winter themed mason jar craft. You can see yesterday’s post HERE. At the end of each post, I’ll also link to the other mason jar crafts shared by my friends that day too. Check them all out!
I found the buffalo check bunting in the dollar spot at Target, but you could create something similar with cotton fabric. If you have a Cricut Maker, you can even use it to cut the fabric! I used my Cricut to cut mason jar shapes out of black iron-on vinyl. I cut the letters out of the same red flocked iron-on I used for my Fall tea towels.
I carefully ironed all the pieces together and strung the bunting back together. Since the iron-ons are only on one side of the bunting, I could technically keep this bunting out all year just by reversing the panels.
I chose to make mine a Winter bunting, but you can choose whatever word you would like! What would you have your bunting say?

Your bunting is really cute and so much more usable with the word winter on it. I bought couple scarves at $tree at first of season which are red/black buffalo check so think will make bunting with one of them, can put cardboard on back for more stability. Have one scarf on coffee table for table runner. Don’t know if will put iron on jar on bunting but can at least have most of it.
Time to go eat delicious potato soup Mr.Furry made, he does the cooking around here.. When I used to cook he was always right there thinking he could do better job, trying to grab spoon out of my hands, so it was walk away or kill him. What can I say, it’s how I live with a control freak.
Wishing you an yours a very MERRY CHRISTMAS
