Hey, guys! I’m Jessica Hill, and it’s all my craziness you’ll find here on the Mad in Crafts website. I used to teach high school English (did you catch the Hamlet reference in my blog’s name?), but now I use my English degree to write craft tutorials and snappy social media posts.
If you’ve found your way to my blog, chances are you are a lot like me.
I am fluent in gifs, coffee is my life force, and I would rather be drinking a beer around a campfire than attending any kind of fancy party.
I also love making stuff, but I am not an expert at any particular craft.
I have no art background, and all my DIY skills I learned from my dad or YouTube (or from my dad who learned it from YouTube). Every project I do is an experiment; sometimes it turns out crazy good and other times it just looks crazy.
That’s how I know that these are all projects that YOU can tackle.
You can do this. If you have ever said that you weren’t crafty, or artistic, or handy, stop it right now. If you want to be, you are — you just have to start making something. I have hundreds of tutorials to give you ideas, just click on my menu bar above.
I make cool stuff.
Mad in Crafts is a source for crazy good creative ideas ranging from DIY projects to party ideas to home decor. Mad in Crafts projects have been featured on The TODAY Show and PBS, in Woman’s Day and Country Sampler magazines, and in numerous online publications.
I like to write.
Over the years, I have been able to contribute articles to SNAP Creativity, Decor Hacks, and Crafterminds, as well as freelance writing for clients of Houndstooth Media Group. I have also written a few ebooks currently available for sale (hint hint).
