We moved into our new house this year, and have been getting to know the neighbors. What’s a better way to make friends than by sharing delicious treats, I always say. This year I hope to share some of my Christmas baking with our neighbors, and this Treat Canister is a cute way to transport them.
To make Neighbor Treat Canisters, you will need:
treat canister (from Target)
PSA stamps and inks
address stamp
scrapbook paper (like Martha Stewart’s Paper Pad)
gold pen (like EK Success Metallic Dual Writer Pen)
Christmas cookies (like my Chocolate Hazelnut Shortbread Cookies)
I found these really cute paint can-like canisters in the dollar section at Target. They have a little handle and come in Christmas red and green. To make the canister look even more festive, I stamped the craft paper I used to wrap up the cookies using my red and green ink and the Tree and new Mixed Holiday stamp packs from PSA Essentials.
I used our customized address stamp to add our name and address to the top of the canister. I cut some circles out of scrapbook paper and then added some flourishes with a gold pen.

I have always loved the sweet and thoughtful tradition of neighbor cookie canisters! My family and I have been the lucky recipients and honored givers of treats in pretty jars over the years. When our children (now adults) were at home, they couldn’t wait to be the deliverers of our homemade gifts.
