Years ago, I made myself a Rebel Scum t-shirt that I still wear. At the time, just accurately making a freezer paper stencil by hand was an accomplishment for me. Using a cutting machine or sharing any kind of cut file was beyond my skills. Now that I have learned a bit about creating my own SVG files, I have remade that design into a Rebel Scum Star Wars SVG file so you can make your own shirt just in time for May the 4th!

HOW TO USE THE SVG TO MAKE A STAR WARS SHIRT WITH CRICUT DESIGN SPACE
I originally created this design to be used on a t-shirt, but you can use it in any non-commercial use you can imagine. This is how you turn your new SVG files into a geeky cool shirt.
Rebel Scum SVG in Cricut Design Space
- Upload the file into Cricut Design Space.
- Insert the file into a new canvas and resize the design to fit your shirt.
Cricut Design Space has handy templates that help you determine how large a design you should cut, but you should always measure your actual shirt before cutting out your design.
- If you will be using iron-on vinyl, remember to always MIRROR YOUR DESIGN.
It’s so disappointing to cut out a design only to realize you forgot to mirror it!
- After the design has been cut out, weed the excess vinyl, and follow package directions for heat pressing the vinyl onto your shirt.
MAKING A STAR WARS SHIRT WITH FREEZER PAPER
If you will be using your cutting machine to cut out a freezer paper stencil as I did years ago, you don’t have to mirror the design. Place the freezer paper SHINY SIDE DOWN on your cutting mat before cutting. Weed out the stencil, and iron it onto your shirt (shiny side down) with an iron or EasyPress machine. Then I recommend using fabric ink to paint the design onto your shirt. Learn more about why in this tutorial.
OTHER WAYS TO USE THE FREE STAR WARS SVG
I originally created this design to be used on a t-shirt, but you can use it in any non-commercial use you can imagine. Here are a few suggestions for other fun ways to use this free Star Wars digital cutting file:
- Stickers
- Scrapbooks
- Party invitation cards
- Wall vinyl
- Mugs
- Hats
- and more!

There should be a grey subscription box with a red button right above “How to Use the SVG Files to Rebel Scum Shirts.” If it’s not there, please let me know!

I made a freezer paper stencil and used fabric ink rather than paint. You can see a tutorial for the same process here: https://madincrafts.com/make-a-vintage-feel-graphic-tee/
