This post is part of my work as brand ambassador for Plutonium Paint. I was compensated for my work, but the opinions are 100% my own.
Unless you are new here, you know that we are big Detroit Tigers fans in our family. And, we aren’t just bandwagon fans either, I use to fall asleep listening to Alan Trammell hitting home runs over the radio back when I was the age my kids are now. So turning a vintage metal rocker into a Detroit Tigers rocker is almost common place in my household.
My mom found this old metal rocker for cheap, and she asked if I would be willing to repaint it as a Detroit Tigers chair. Who could turn down a request like that? I started by giving the whole chair a scrub with steel wool to remove any loose paint and excess rust. Then I wiped it down with paper towel to get rid of the rust dust.
I used my Cricut to cut an Old English D out of vinyl. Vinyl works well as a painting stencil since it removes so cleanly. Watch the process of painting the stencil in this quick video. I have tons of creative videos on my YouTube channel so hop over and check them all out.
