Yesterday I shared my ongoing battle with a destructive neighborhood squirrel. As a result, I am trying to make our fall porch decorations as squirrel-proof as possible. I wanted to add some new pillows to our bench, but I didn’t want to spend too much money since they are going to be trampled on by cheeky little rodents. Instead of using real velvet to recover our existing pillows, I grabbed some microfiber towels from Dollar Tree to create these faux velvet pillows.

The pillows look very similar to velvet, and they are super soft to the touch. Since each pillow only cost $1 to slipcover, I don’t mind leaving them exposed to the elements and to impudent animals. Come back tomorrow to see how else I have squirrel-proofed our fall porch this year.
