Today’s project is very similar to the Stained Glass Easter Eggs I made a while back, just with a pumpkin-y twist. I love using alcohol inks on glass to achieve a watercolor/stained glass effect. The technique is incredibly simple, and produces such pretty results. You can make these pumpkin luminary mason jars in minutes!

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE PUMPKIN LUMINARY MASON JARS

HOW TO USE ALCOHOL INK ON MASON JARS
I basically followed the same process as the stained glass eggs to create these pumpkins. I added a drop of alcohol ink and sprayed it with canned air to spread the color out. I repeated with different colors until the jars were covered in shades of yellow and orange. I considered spray painting the lids or wrapping them with jute, but decided against it. The plain lids will go nicely with the galvanized metal that will also be a part of my Fall mantel. Whether you choose to embellish the lids or not is up to your personal taste.
I placed a pair of battery-powered tealights in the larger pumpkin jars to turn them into luminaries. The colored glass glows so prettily at night!
