Fall is on its way, so prepare for the onslaught of “It’s Fall, Y’all” posts. As a Midwesterner, I always feel a little left out by these cute photos and graphics. Where I live, no one says “y’all,” we say “you guys” or occasionally “youse guys.” If you are also feeling disenfranchised by your lack of representation in the “It’s Fall” community, I have a silly project for you. I made my own set of “It’s Fall, You Guys” mugs because I am a snarky nuisance.
This whole week I am participating in a Fall Jars series with five other amazing bloggers. Each day we will each share a fall-themed mason jar crafts, and include links to each other’s projects as well.
This project is very similar to the painted mug gift I shared before Father’s Day, except this time around I freehanded the design instead of tracing it. I started by wiping my mason jar mugs down with rubbing alcohol.
Then I drew a simple fall design using my glass paint markers. These markers are dishwasher-safe if you cure them by allowing the project to air cure for approximately 8 hours then baking at 375°F for 40 minutes.
I made a matching set of mugs because hot apple cider is even better if you share it with a friend!
Even if you are a dyed in the wool Southerner, I hope you enjoyed this cheeky project. I am excited to use my new mugs for a Fall beverage soon.
These are all affiliate links, if you make a purchase (of anything on Amazon, not just these items) after clicking through, I will earn a small commission. Ads and affiliate links are the way I am able to keep this website running and to offer you free tutorials all year long. Thank you so much for supporting me and Mad in Crafts!
