New York City is one of my favorite places on earth, so I jumped at the opportunity to take a lightning fast trip to NYC earlier this week. Although I was only in the city for a day and a half, I squeezed as much crafty adventure into each New York minute as I could.
I was sent to New York in my role as a MyPrintly ambassador. MyPrintly held an event at the Doubletree Times Square to introduce local bloggers to HP’s printers and software, and they asked me to help the attendees with a crafty make and take.
Amy Mascot of Teach Mama is another MyPrintly ambassador, and she was also on hand to help with the craft projects and to acquaint the bloggers with the MyPrintly site.
It was a special feeling for me to see dozens and dozens of bloggers putting together a make and take that I had designed for MyPrintly. The bloggers seemed to have a fabulous time crafting, socializing, and using the HP printers that MyPrintly had available.
This new MyPrintly innovation is something I hope to be able to share with you more in the future. My mind is already whirling with ideas of ways to use it!
I met up with Haley of The Zen of Making and Craftzine the next morning. Haley is a Brooklyn-based craft blogger, even though she grew up in Michigan, so she knows the ins and outs of Manhattan fabric and craft shopping. She was kind enough to show me around the Garment District while I was in town.
We hit up Mood, M&J Trimming, and The City Quilter. It was a lot of hoofing it in the muggy NYC summer humidity, but it was worth it to experience the massive scale of each of these stores.
Haley then took me to Saluggi’s in Little Italy for some downright sinful New York pizza. I would make the trip back to New York just to eat there again, if I could.
It was a whirlwind trip to be there and back in 48 hours, but I am so thankful that I was able to go. How can you not love New York!
