I am an old school Nickelodeon girl. Kids nowadays probably don’t know the origins of Nickelodeon slime. I vividly remember watching “You Can’t Say That on Television” when my parents weren’t around (because they hated it), and seeing the cast members get buckets of nasty green slime dumped on their heads any time they said, “I don’t know.” I secretly wished I was one of them. Yes, I see you, slime-covered Alanis Morisette.
Today the only experience kids have with sliming is on the Kids’ Choice Awards. Kids these days — GET OFF MY LAWN! Anyway my kids are just now getting old enough to really enjoy the award show. My 7 year old has already asked to watch the 2015 Kids’ Choice Awards, so our DVR is set for March 28 at 8/7c.
Since I always wished I could be slimed, I thought I would give my kids a less messy version of the experience.
I asked them to pose as if they were getting slime dumped on their heads, and then I snapped a few pics with my phone. I printed those photos off on photo paper, and we got out our DohVinci toys.
We mixed up some yellow and blue dough in the color mixer to get the perfect shade of Nickelodeon slime green.
Then the kids used the styler to add dough onto the photos to make it look like they were being slimed. The results are hilarious.
The kids played nicely together for an hour, making pictures and projects with the DohVinci dough. The dough dries overnight, so we will be able to hang these pictures up in plenty of time for the Kids’ Choice Awards.
Nickelodeon and DohVinci are also holding a contest, and those chosen will have their Kids’ Choice themed artwork featured on-air on the night of the awars! Get more information about the 2015 Kids’ Choice Awards and DohVinci Products on their websites, and follow the KCA Facebook page and the Nickelodeon Twitter account.
