I’m of the opinion that summer parties should be no-fuss, no-muss situations. Put some beer on ice, grill up some meat, and spend time with friends and family. I think the party decorations should be equally laid back. That’s why I think this 5 minute dollar store patriotic centerpiece is perfect for Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, or any summer party really.
I am adding this project to another round of Craft Lightning. This week dozens of crafters will share patriotic DIYs that can be made in 15 minutes or less. Be sure to visit The Country Chic Cottage, 30 Minute Crafts, and Me and My Inklings for daily round-ups of all the tutorials.
This video is less than one minute long, but it shows you the whole process of putting this centerpiece together. That’s how easy it is! I share creative videos like this twice a week. Subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven’t already, so you don’t miss any of them!
I found all of the supplies for this centerpiece (minus the fresh flowers) at Dollar Tree, making this an inexpensive project too.
Since the LED lights I used in the jars are waterproof, you can keep the flowers fresh and still have an illuminated centerpiece at night. If your dollar store doesn’t carry the waterproof lights, you can substitute regular battery-powered tea lights and use silk flowers in the jars.
I love the way the lights shine through the flower petals as well as through the colored glass of the mason jars. I chose to set my jars on a table, but you could use the jars’ included handles to create hanging decorations instead. Here’s to a happy, laid back summer!
