To make Five Minute Family Calendar Magnets, you will need:

dollar store magnets

table knife

cardstock

PSA Essentials Mom’s Calendar stamps

ink

circle punch

Dollar Tree is currently carrying these round button magnets in an 8-pack.  Since magnets themselves can be stupidly expensive, you can just harvest the magnets off the back of these buttons by prying them off with a table knife.  And you get cute plastic button embellishments as a byproduct!

I stamped each icon from the Mom’s Calendar Peel ‘n’ Stick pack onto brightly colored cardstock and then cut them out using my circle cutter.  The adhesive that will remain on the magnet is plenty strong to attach the magnet to the cardstock, but you can add extra glue if you need feel like it.

I bought this vinyl wet-erase calendar at Target a few years ago to keep us organized.  I still managed to forget about a few important dates though, just because they didn’t jump out at me from the calendar.  These bright dimensional magnet will make those important dates stand out.

This idea isn’t groundbreaking, but I think it will really help to keep our family on schedule and on-task in 2013!
