Thirty years ago, some of my family and I went to see a Disney movie together. That movie was The Jungle Book, recently re-released in theaters. I was three.
Three is a tender age, and I am a tender soul. Or at least that is the excuse I give for the EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWN I am told I had on the way out of the theater. Three-year-old Jessica was not pleased with Mowgli’s decision at the end of the movie. Not at all pleased.
I wish I could say that was the last time I have been so emotionally invested in a Disney movie, but it’s not. I did a Claire Danes-style ugly cry watching the end of Toy Story 3 with my son. I get choked up each time I listen to Frozen’s “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” with my daughter. Disney movies are emotionally rich, and, boy, do they hold up over time.
I am excited to introduce my kids to The Jungle Book with the new Diamond Edition DVD/Blu-ray available now. I will be sure to have tissues on hand for my daughter, though.
To celebrate the Diamond Edition release, I have teamed up with several other craft bloggers to choose our Bare Necessities of Crafting! Be sure to visit their blogs for craft tutorials, DIY projects, and Disney fun.
One lucky winner will get our awesome Bare Necessities of Crafting prize package shown above! That’s $100-worth of craft supplies, along with a copy of Disney’s The Jungle Book: Diamond Edition DVD (you can watch while crafting!). And, as a special bonus, TWO runner-up winners will each get a copy of Disney’s The Jungle Book: Diamond Edition DVD.
