Teachers who don’t love coffee or tea are few and far between. If you want to show a teacher that you really appreciate her, give her a new travel mug and a gift card to a local coffee shop. This super simple Cricut project lets you create an awesome teacher vinyl mug for your favorite teacher.
All this week I will be joining in with other creative bloggers to share end of the school projects you can make with your Cricut. Be sure to come back each day for more DIYs.
Start by downloading the graphic I designed HERE and uploading it to the Cricut Design Space. Remove the white space from the design using the erase tool. Then save it as a cut file. Insert the image into a Design Space project, and resize it to fit your travel mug.
Set your Cricut for vinyl and cut out the project. Carefully weed the excess vinyl from your design. If you resize the design to fit a small mug, you may not be able to weed out the negative space in some of the lettering in the words “awesome teacher.” Don’t worry about that, the design will still be legible. Apply a piece of transfer tape over the design.
Carefully peel back the transfer tape. Then smooth out any bubbles with your finger to ensure the vinyl is fully adhered to the mug.
Since this project is made with outdoor vinyl, you should be able to hand wash the mug. If you want the mug to be top rack dishwasher safe, I recommend sealing the vinyl with a coat or two of dishwasher-safe Mod Podge as well.
